La Vista, Nebraska

A big perk about Seth's job is that he's close enough and available to come home for lunch most days and he has a few events that require travel. We went to Wisconsin this winter for the MOSES conference and then this summer he took some classes in La Vista, Nebraska, for his farm manager accreditation. La Vista is just a few miles from Omaha so there was plenty to do.

We left Wednesday early afternoon and Lizah did a great job of napping and playing. A few times I crawled into the backseat to keep her company. The drive was made shorter for us by listening to Adventures in Oddessey. It was fun to introduce Seth to that part of my childhood and even more fun that he enjoyed them too :)
She got her toy hooked in her paci somehow

Supper at Culvers!

The classes were held in a conference center between a Marriott and Embassy Suites. We stayed in the Embassy which was a fantastic set-up for having a child along. With the space being divided into multiple rooms I could put her down to nap while I did devos or worked on my computer in the other room.

They are known for their made-to-order omelets and large breakfast selection. At this location, the breakfast area was never crowded, hardly even "busy" so we were able to enjoy breakfast together before Seth went to class for the morning. Lizah spent more time watching people than eating food. She does NOT get that from me--ha!

Some highlights of the trip:

Groceries from TJ's! Since we had a fridge and microwave we ate in our room instead of going out every night. Lizah enjoyed snacking on peas and I discovered a yummy alternative to iced coffee.

Walks across the parking lot to Cabela's to see fish and taxidermy.

Time to watch this one sleep

Free lollipops! Which ended up disintegrating in melted ice, but oh well, we had other treats from our favorite chocolate shop :)

Not pictured was our weekend in Sabetha. We left Saturday after class got out and our car got jumped (yah, dead battery). Seth ended up replacing the battery altogether and we were blessed that somebody he knew from 4-H and the farm management industry was also there and let us borrow his truck to buy jumper cables and a new battery. Anyways, we were well fed and fellowshipped in Sabetha and are so grateful to those who showed such genuine hospitality.

Henry Doorly Zoo. I had mentioned we were going to the couple we stayed with in Sabetha and the mom thought it would be fun to come so she came with her three boys, two sisters-in-law, and niece. It was good to not be there alone! Lizah didn't get much out of the big exhibits because she had a hard time finding the animals. But she loved watching the geese and fish! And playing in the fountain.

There was a long pedestrian bridge connecting Omaha, NE to Council Bluffs, IA. We went there one evening after Seth's class.

It was a great trip and I'm already looking forward to going along next year!
