4 Months
Our visit to the doctor confirmed my suspicions that Lizah had a growth spurt. From her 2-month well visit she went from 11lb 5.5 oz and 22 inches long to 14lb 12 oz and 24.5 inches long. This means that her weight percentile increased by 6.49 percent and her height percentile increased by 20.96 percent! No wonder she blew right threw her three month outfits. I'm continually amazed at how much I can watch her change even though I'm with her all day every day. Watching her discover the world around is so fun and having conversations and giggle-fests truly gives me great joy. Maybe I need to get out more. Or maybe I just love being a mom to this girl.
This past weekend we went to Texas to visit Seth's friends Nelson and Janelle Eisenmann. I was nervous about how the plane rides would go and overall I must say Lizah was a champ. Our departing flight was late Thursday evening so she was sleeping when we took off. About half an hour before we landed she woke up and seemed a little bothered by the pressure as we descended and landed. But other fliers commented on how good she was so her fussing must've been quiet enough! It was really nice that the flight wasn't completely full because they let us use an extra seat for her carseat even though we technically flew her as a lap infant. Note to self: Thursday evenings are prime time for flying.
These pictures sum up what Lizah did in Texas.
Coming home on Sunday we had two flights, both of which were full. The first one went well but I knew the second one was going to be more stressful as she was already fussing before we took off. Thankfully the man sitting beside us had three daughters and was very understanding. She cried quite a bit until we leveled out in altitude and then she fell asleep. Meanwhile I was wondering why I had worn fleece lined tights. Bouncing a swaddled baby in an airplane seat can work up a sweat!
I'm glad we went, it's good to have our first flight under our belts. It was really good to do it with Seth who was very helpful getting this and that out of the diaper bag, holding my drink, or taking a turn with Lizah. He does such a good job helping with her and she adores him!
A new favorite "toy" is the door jumper. Maybe it's more of a favorite for me than for her right now; it will probably get more fun as she gains core and leg strength. At least she's figured out how to spin circles.

Her hair is growing on top but the bald spot remains very...bald...on the back of her head. The other day at her appointment the nurse commented about her crazy hair then the doctor came in and also commented about her crazy hair. I sent a picture to my mom and sisters who also commented about her--you guessed it--crazy hair. I'm not sure what they were talking about, are you?
Crazy hair and all, we love our precious little Lizah!
