9 Months

Busy, busy, busy is what we are these days. Lizah is busy crawling here and there and chasing me around the house while I'm busy entertaining her or finding a distraction. Sometimes it (the distraction) works, other times she's fooled no longer than a second and follows me back into the kitchen. The past month has been a big time of milestones: crawling like a champ, pulling to standing, showing a tooth, and drinking from a sippy make my little Lizah look not so little anymore.

The monthly towel pictures. She may be upset with me someday for doing this :/

Fun times with new friends! I enjoyed a catch-up with some longtime friends during a visit back to Indiana and Lizah loved playing with Arabella and Charlie.

Out of town potluck was also in Indiana, but this time all the way in Milford. Lizah did well on the drive and it was a fun trip because one couple announced the day before that they were expecting which means all five couples either have a baby or anticipate having one by January!

A quick evening trip to Indiana for closing campfire at good ol' Camp T to cheer, laugh, and hang out with Nay.

Yes, Lizah and I went to Indiana four different times in June. And it was worth every trip.

Some fun summer activities closer to home have included picking cherries, garage sale finds like Lizah's stick horse (love at first sight), playing in the yard, trips to the library, and the 4th of July!

I mentioned earlier that sometimes it can be hard to keep her entertained, especially now that she is mobile and can come find me when she gets bored. One time I tried sticking her in her tub/pool while I did dishes but that didn't last long. Another time I latched her into her high chair and let her have at the piano. Gave me some peace but not much quiet. And then sometimes, because after all she is a kid, I just hope she doesn't hurt herself and I let her explore. I've learned she's good at balancing cans of stain and I've also learned to keep the bathroom door closed when she's awake. Oh, and she totally knows she isn't supposed to go near the harp but she looks at us and crawls right to it. My life would be so boring without this kid <3

Surprised herself with her balancing skills!
EWWWWWWW

Sleep is hit or miss. Some nights she goes down great, other times it's a fight. It seems that now since she's standing up in the crib she has a harder time settling down. She can be asleep in my arms and the moment she hits the mattress her eyes pop open, her dimples pop in, and she's wide awake. So I pat her back and walk out of the room only to hear her cry then a few moments later she's sitting up and babbling or finding something to mess with on the crib. The other day she discovered how bouncy her mattress is (despite the fact we've been reading about monkeys falling off the bed). These are things I don't want to forget because as frustrating as it can be in the moment, it is life right now and it is so, so good.
