3 Months

Little Lizah is three months! I'm a day late, but that's how it goes with an infant in the house. Actually, since my planner arrived I've been much better at getting things done, but there are times when her "schedule" (or lack thereof) interferes and things simply don't get done when I wished.

We both caught a cold this week and she had a gunky eye for several days. Overall she handled it fairly well, but now that it's cleared up and as she's acting more normal I'm reminded what a good baby she is. Last night I came down with something else and am ready to get over it all, but considering that this is our first sick spell since she was born I'd say it's been a good winter so far.

This morning I gave her a bath and snapped her towel photo for the month. It's maybe a weird tradition. I just think squeaky clean little babies are pretty stinking cute. She wasn't ultra cooperative and Seth was even in there trying to make her smile. Oh well, we'll take what we can get as it's fun to see what expressions come out. The second picture gives a good depiction of what she likes to do with her blankies. Chew on them, cover her face up when she's going to sleep in the swing or rock-n-play (don't worry, I only let her have blankets if I'm close by).

This past week she's been having a lot of fun with the play mat and is getting good at hitting the toys. I've noticed she prefers to use her left hand and wonder if it's too early to tell dominance or not. The other day I looked out there and she was holding onto a toy with each hand and seemed to have trouble letting go. After I took a few pics I helped her out.

I still love to watch her sleep. Until recently she was usually in something with slope: her cradle, the rock-n-play, or the swing. I've started setting her in her crib or on our bed when she falls asleep and she doesn't seem to be bothered one get. She might have some Klotzle sleeping genes (okay with this mama!)

She's currently on my lap, sucking her fingers and drooling, oh wait, that's spit-up. Often when I dab her mouth she thinks it's pretty funny, hopefully that will last.

I'll post some of the Christmas pictures soon...now that I have goals in my planner and a checklist I'm much more motivated to actually do the things of minor importance. It's all a mental game, but it's working!

Now I'm going to go put on some soup for the snow-shovelers, Seth and Addie, who have been at it for a while this morning. And I think I have a diaper to change as well.

Stay warm, friends!
