One Month

I could probably begin every post about Lizah with: “my baby is already ___ old!!!” She is growing and changing, and the more we get to know her the more she becomes an integral part of our family. She still sleeps hours and hours each day, but she has spurts of awake time that include taking in her surroundings with wide-eyes and a perplexed brow. Seth and I laugh at how much she grunts (she’s even doing it in her sleep as I type).
We had her Champaign/Urbana church baby shower Friday evening and she slept through most of it. I think she has some people fooled that she hardly cries, but the people at the doctor’s office know better as we’ve been there twice in less than a week and she screamed both times. Sometimes I have to stop and remember that she’s still getting used to life outside the womb. Considering the major adjustment she’s going through, I’d say she’s handling it rather well.

Wouldn’t you?
Today I gave her a bath before her doctor appointment and she usually gets upset when I pull her out of the warm water. But this time she didn’t really cry and I had a few minutes to spare so I snapped a few pictures. We were even early to our appointment, but don’t be impressed because the other day I was leaving the house at the time my appointment was scheduled for.
Stay warm and healthy, everyone!
