Let the Festivities Begin!
Christmas Day is almost here, and around the Lehman house things are getting pretty exciting! Well, unrelated to Christmas would be my recent engagement to Seth Waibel (story coming soon!). Also somewhat unrelated to Christmas would be Grammy’s visit for several weeks and it’s so wonderful to have her here.
But a lot of the activity in the house is related to the anticipation of celebrating our Savior’s birth. Christmas decorations have been up for a few weeks and presents have been appearing by the manger. The McCormick’s arrived this morning and there are lots of plans from the Christmas program to caroling to hanging out with Seth and, if weather permits, having his family in on Sunday.
Hopefully I’ll post more pictures of the weekend, but to break it down a little I’ll add a few of what’s happened so far.
We’ve been using lots of sugar and chocolate the past few days making peanut-butter balls and a chocolate cake for Mom’s birthday .
Thursday evening a few of us went to visit a family friend in the hospital and then David and Dad set up the train. Earlier that day, David had found some train cars on rebate at Menard’s (surprise surprise). Knowing that Calvin was coming was extra incentive to get it out this year, but that’s just their excuse because Dad ended up buying more track before the night was over. It’s definitely something all ages like to see around here.

As hoped, Calvin has enjoyed it immensely.
He’s also a fan of Christmas sweets…

Between reading books, playing with toys, and getting excited every time somebody else comes home from school or work, he’s been so fun to have around.

Tonight after the program we’re celebrating Mom’s birthday and then heading to Seth’s uncle and aunt’s for a game of hockey.
It’s amazing how the love of Jesus will not only bring us together someday in heaven, but it affects our lives here on earth every single day. We’re all together because of Him, and it’s such a privilege to have this time of year where family becomes priority as we reflect on the Greatest Gift.
